There is one worldwide version of the Tune-Up that upgrades English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch versions of AppleShare 4.0 to version 4.0.1 in the native language. AppleShare 4.0.1 has the following features and enhancements: ¥ Supports all 68040 CPUs except the Centris/Quadra 660AV and Quadra 840AV. ¥ Utilizes Apple Shared Library Manager (ASLM) 1.1 and is therefore compatible with Apple Remote Access MultiPort Server and Apple Internet Router 3.0.1. ¥ Fixes all known compatibility problems with Farallon's PhoneNET PC. ¥ Fixes all know compatibility problems with PowerTalk and PowerShare Collaboration Servers. ¥ Updates the Apple Internet Router 3.0 to version 3.0.1 if it is resident on the AppleShare 4.0 server CPU. Note: From a functionality standpoint, AppleShare 4.0.1 is identical to "AppleShare 4.0.2 for 68040-based Macintosh Computers". Therefore, there is no need for customers running AppleShare 4.0.1 to upgrade to AppleShare 4.0.2. The only differences between these versions are the version number itself and the fact that AppleShare 4.0.2 is available in a complete retail package, while AppleShare 4.0.1 is available as a tune-up only and must be installed over an existing copy of AppleShare 4.0. From the installation instructions: APPLESHARE TUNE-UP 4.0.1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ================================================== This document describes how to use AppleShare Tune-Up 4.0.1 to update your AppleShare 4.0 File and Print Server to version 4.0.1. Before You Install ----------------- The Tune-Up software assumes that the files placed on your server when you installed AppleShare 4.0 are still in their original locations and have their original names. If you have moved, copied, or renamed any of these files, follow these steps to restore the files to their original locations and original names: 1. Drag the files to the Trash. Drag only the files that you have moved, copied or renamed, such as AppleShare Admin, AppleShare File Server, or AppleShare Print Server to the Trash. IMPORTANT: To prevent problems with the aliases in the Apple menu, be sure to drag all the copies of AppleShare Admin, AppleShare File Server, and AppleShare Print Server, including backup copies, to the Trash. Note: The Startup Items folder is a typical place to find these files. 2. Reinstall AppleShare 4.0. 3. Empty the Trash. The files for the Apple Internet Router 3.0 must also be in their original locations and have their original names. If you have moved or renamed any of these files, follow these steps to restore the files to their original locations and original names: 1. Drag the files to the Trash. 2. Reinstall Apple Internet Router 3.0. 3. Empty the Trash.
