Name: VideoSync Version: 1.0 Released: August 15, 1990 Description: VideoSync is a utility designed to allow the video recording of Macintosh monitor images with consumer or professional video camera equipment. VideoSync supports the Macintosh Display Card 4¥8, 8¥24, 8¥24 GC, Apple High Resolution Video Card, and the Macintosh II Video Cards when connected to an AppleColor High Resolution 13-inch RGB or monochrome monitor or Macintosh 12-inch RGB Display. This software is NOT supported. The enclosed file is a self-extracting archive. To use, download, double-click the downloaded file (this decompresses it). The utility is an extension to the Monitors control panel that adjusts the timing of the Apple display card so that the monitor image appears stable when viewed by an external NTSC camera. VideoSync does not create RS-170A timing for directly recording Macintosh screens to a VCR. The VideoSync utility is not compatible with Power Macintosh and Quadra AV computers. For compatibility with 660AV and 840AV systems please refer to VideoSync II software posted here. VideoSync will only run: ¥ In 8-bit ¥ Only on a Macintosh with Color QuickDraw VideoSync WON'T RUN with: ¥ The 24AC Display card ¥ The 8¥24 GC card with acceleration turned on ¥ Third-party video cards ¥ Internal Video VideoSync attaches to the extended control options of the Monitors CDEV. These options appear in a window after double cliking on an individual display or clicking on the Options button after selecting a display. The Monitors extension will only work with Monitors version 6.0.4 or greater. VideoSync's Monitor extension provides three controls: ¥ Standard: returns the display to the standard 66.66 Hz vertical refresh rate of the Macintosh II Video Card and the Apple High Resolution Video Card. ¥ Scroll: generates a signal slightly faster than the 59.94 Hz vertical scan rate of NTSC cameras. This will cause the "beat" bar created from the different scan positions of the camera and the display signal to slowly move down the recorded NTSC signal. ¥ Stable: creates an non-interlaced close approximation of the NTSC 59.94 Hz scan rate signal and is compatible with the Apple High Resolution RGB and Monochrome monitors.
