The card contains our mail address: 211-4446. Get On Our E-Mailing List To receive updates and new information, send us a message with the subject "subscribe". To send the message, open AppleMail (choose "AppleMail" from the "Mail and Catalogs" submenu in the Apple menu) and type "subscribe" as the subject. Drag the provided "Mercury Support" icon (in the "Gateway Info, MCI Mail" folder) into the recipient field of the mailer. Under the mail menu select send. Known Problems ¥ If you are sending multiple messages, while the gateway is connected to the service and sending several messages, only the message that is currently being sent is listed as "sending". The other messages are listed as "waiting", which is normal for PowerTalk. ¥ There is a seven-second delay after the carrier is lost. This delay is normal for the Apple Modem Tool. ¥ Macintosh paragraphs (long lines with no CR until the very end) are hardened by word wrapping at column 255 (by MCI Mail). ¥ All outbound attachments are MacBinary-encoded when sending, and thus may not be readable by non-Macintosh systems. Inbound attachments can be received from most any source. ¥ Messages which include only one resolved MCI recipient as a CC or BCC may arrive as a 'TO'. ¥ If the Gateway stops working or you have trouble unlocking your keychain, try dragging the PowerTalk Setup Preferences file (in the System:Preferences folder) to the trash and restart. You will have to set up PowerTalk again if you do this, but this procedure, if necessary, will cure many problems. Changes From Version 1.0B ¥ Inbound messages to MCI from X.400 now produce addresses that can be used in replies. ¥ Recipient lists are now stored more efficiently so that large recipient lists can be used. Approximately 2000 total recipients (all inbound, all outbound) can be contained in the default Gateway memory allocation (500K). ¥ If the serial port is busy, the Gateway will camp-on the serial port, and attempt to establish a connection the next time it is available. The keychain setup progress indication shows this state. ¥ The Gateway now works with the Apple Modem Tool 1.5.5. ¥ Changing "I'm at" while the template is active no longer corrupts the settings. ¥ The Gateway no longer crashes when the "I'm at" location changes. ¥ Outgoing addresses now have the original recipient name included as well as the eMail address. ¥ Previous problems with system shutdown being ignored are now fixed. The Gateway will exit when informed of a system shutdown. If the Gateway has a session active, that session will finish before the Gateway exits. ¥ Short text enclosures were corrupted under some circumstances or would cause error #64 or system crash. This problem has been fixed. Mercury Software, Inc. 3761 Venture Drive, Suite 170 Duluth, Georgia 30136 (770) 476-2566 MCI: 211-4446 http://www.mercurysw.com
